Write to support@ritual.day. A person reads it.
It helps to say which phone you are on and what its version of iOS or Android is, and what you did just before the thing went wrong. If Ritual lost or mangled an entry, an export file attached to the mail is the fastest way to work out what happened — and it is yours to redact first.
Is there an account to sign into?
No. There is nothing to sign into and nothing to sign up for. Your log lives on your phone, which is why there is no password to lose and no server to be down.
I got a new phone. Where is my log?
It does not follow you automatically, and this is the one thing worth knowing before you need it. Ritual keeps your log on the phone rather than on a server, so moving it is something you do rather than something that happens.
Export from Settings on the old phone, keep the file somewhere you will still have it, and import it on the new one. Doing it twice is safe: importing a file you already imported adds nothing.
How do I get my data out?
Settings, then export. It writes a file containing your whole log, which you can send to yourself, keep in a cloud drive, or open in a text editor and read. It is the backup and the migration path and the answer to “is this really mine”, all in one file.
How do I print something for an appointment?
Patterns, then the summary sheet. Pick the period you want and it makes a page you can print or send. Every column on it is measured over the period the header names, and it says so on the page.
Patterns is empty, or a chart is missing
Below a handful of entries Ritual does not draw a chart, and shows you what it does know instead. A chart of two bars tells you less than the sentence underneath it would, so it waits until there is a shape to see. It fills in as you record.
Can I get a reminder?
Yes, and it is off until you turn it on, in Settings. At most one a day, and it names what was still open rather than counting what you missed.
I recorded the wrong thing
Open the entry in History and change it, or remove it. Nothing is ever really deleted underneath — a correction is recorded as a correction — so a removed entry can come back and the record of what actually happened stays intact.
What Ritual does not do
Ritual gives no medical advice and no dosing advice. It does not tell you what to take, how much of it, or when, and it has no opinion about how often you took anything. It is a record of what you did, written by you. Decisions about your medication belong between you and the person who prescribes it.
Privacy
Ritual collects nothing about you, and the privacy page says exactly what that means, including the one request the app does make and what is in it.
